Station Technician

Sauti Ya Pwani FM is a fast-growing Swahili radio station serving the Coastal region and global diaspora through FM and digital streaming platforms. As part of our ongoing station revamp and digital-first transformation, we are seeking a qualified and experienced Broadcast Engineer to join our technical team.
Position Summary

1. The station technician will oversee the maintenance and performance of all broadcast, transmission, studio and digital systems to ensure high-quality, uninterrupted on-air and online operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot FM transmitters, antennas, RF and signal processing systems
• Oversee studio equipment including mixers, consoles, microphones and automation systems
• Support live broadcasts and outside coverage
• Monitor and maintain streaming and digital broadcast integration
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance and technical reporting
• Respond promptly to technical faults to minimize downtime
• Recommend system upgrades aligned with the station’s digital-first strategy

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree or Diploma in Broadcast Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Audio Engineering or related field
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in radio or media technical operations
• Strong knowledge of RF systems, studio equipment, broadcast automation and live video production
• Basic IT and networking knowledge for digital broadcasting
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
