- The client is an apparel manufacturing company producing high-quality men’s and women’s garments for international fashion brands. Renowned for meeting stringent export standards, the company has partnered with well-established and acclaimed designers. They are currently seeking to recruit a Senior Accountant to oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accurate bookkeeping, reconciliations, payroll preparation, statutory compliance, management reporting support, inventory analysis, and cost accounting. This role serves as the operational backbone of the finance function, working closely with the Finance & Operations Controller to ensure timely, accurate financial reporting and full compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks, including transaction coding, journals, accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and fixed asset register management.
- Perform bank and mobile money reconciliations, manage petty cash, prepare cash flow updates, and flag any financial risks or discrepancies.
- Prepare payroll inputs and statutory deductions ensuring timely statutory filings, and maintain compliance documentation.
- Prepare monthly reconciliations, working papers, and support the preparation of management accounts, including variance and financial analysis.
- Analyse production costs, manage inventory reconciliations, ensure accurate stock valuation, and prepare profitability reports.
- Support audits, maintain audit-ready documentation, strengthen internal controls, and contribute to process and system improvements.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with CPA (K) or equivalent qualification preferred.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing/production environment, ideally in cost accounting or production finance.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems and strong proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets (pivot tables, advanced formulas).
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good understanding of manufacturing workflows, cost structures, and process-oriented environments.
- Proactive, collaborative team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
