Job Description

Hotpoint Appliances Ltd was founded in 1984, opening its first retail outlet at Sarit Centre in Nairobi. In the late 1990s, the company secured the sole distributorship for LG Electronics, a milestone that marked a major phase of growth. Over time, Hotpoint expanded its portfolio to include other internationally recognized brands such as Ariston, Westpoint, and Kenwood. By 2002, the company had grown into one of the region’s leading retailers and wholesalers of consumer electronics and home entertainment products, with operations spread across Kenya.
Job Purpose
  1. The role is responsible for maintaining a strong presence on the shop floor while overseeing direct reports, including Supervisors, Customer Experience Associates, and Retail Associates. The position also provides administrative support within the showroom, covering areas such as cash operations, billing, receiving goods, customer communication, and preparation of quotations.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
  • Plan and coordinate daily branch operations by preparing activity schedules and assigning tasks to team members.
  • Ensure the showroom meets required standards for presentation and visual merchandising.
  • Maintain adequate stock levels to ensure the showroom is fully stocked at all times.
  • Confirm that all point-of-purchase (POP) materials are properly displayed and pricing is accurately completed.
  • Ensure customers are promptly attended to upon arrival in the showroom.
  • Support sales staff in closing sales and enhancing customer experience.
  • Implement product discounting in line with Orion guidelines.
  • Handle customer care calls and respond to email inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Oversee completion of all administrative processes.
  • Process daily showroom orders in coordination with the credit control team and update summary reports accordingly.
  • Prepare feature cards and ensure all promotional POP materials are processed and distributed to the sales team.
  • Act as a reliever for the Cashier, Stores Supervisor, or Acting Manager when they are absent or on leave.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Manager as required.
