Action Against Hunger is a global humanitarian organization working to end hunger, reaching over 28 million people annually across 55 countries. In Kenya, it operates in counties including Tana River, Kwale, West Pokot, Isiolo, Samburu, and Baringo.
Project Overview – AGROBLUE
  • AGROBLUE is a project focused on improving food security, livelihoods, and climate resilience in Tana River and Kwale. It supports farmers and fishers through climate-smart agriculture, sustainable fishing, and income diversification, while promoting gender inclusion and reducing post-harvest losses.

Position Summary
  • The Food Security & Livelihoods (FSL) Program Officer will be based in Tana River with frequent travel to Kwale. The role involves supporting the design, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of FSL activities to improve sustainable food production and household incomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and monitor food security and livelihood projects
  • Train farmers and community groups on climate-smart agriculture and income-generating activities
  • Work closely with communities, government, and partners
  • Conduct assessments, surveys, and field monitoring
  • Prepare timely reports and project documentation
  • Represent the organization in coordination forums

Requirements
  • Relevant degree in Agriculture, Livelihoods, or related field
  • Experience in food security or community-based projects
  • Strong communication, reporting, and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to travel frequently in remote areas
