Pwani University invites qualified and motivated applicants to fill the following positions:
  1. Library Assistant I (Grade 7) – 1 Position
  2. Library Assistant I (Grade 7) – 2 Positions

These are middle-level positions within the University, offered on a contract basis.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Diploma in Library and Information Science/Studies from a recognized institution
  • A Degree in the same field will be an added advantage
  • At least six (6) years of continuous relevant work experience, with three (3) at the level of Library Assistant II or equivalent

Demonstrated experience in:
  • Cataloguing and classification of library materials
  • Digitization and documentation of information
  • Uploading content to institutional repositories
  • Managing circulation, shelving, and record systems
  • Assisting users with online access and research support

Key Responsibilities
  • Support users in accessing library materials and online resources
  • Assist in cataloguing, classification, and maintenance of library databases (KOHA)
  • Manage circulation services, shelving, and stock maintenance
  • Participate in library outreach, training, and orientation activities
  • Maintain order, professionalism, and user support in the library environment
