Job Description
The Capital Markets Authority (CMA) is an independent public agency established by an Act of Parliament, Cap 485 A under the National Treasury and Econimic Planning. CMA is charged with the prime responsibility of supervising, licensing and monitoring the activities of market intermediaries, including the Stock Exchange and the Central Depository and Settlement Corporation(CDSC). It also regulates all licensees under the Capital Markets Act, including Online Forex, Commodities and Regulated Exchanges.

Job Role
- The Capital Markets Authority (CMA) has an exciting opportunity for volunteers to conduct investor education speaking engagements targeting the general public particularly at the County level over a period of twenty-four (24) months on a part time basis.
- The main objective of this initiative is to increase awareness and participation in the capital markets by effectively engaging the various target groups. This is in line with one of the Capital Markets Authority’s mandate to promote investor education and public awareness throughout the Country.
- A small stipend will be given for each engagement subject to terms and conditions.
Investor Education Volunteer Resource Persons
- Are you passionate about giving back to society at the grassroot level?
- Are you familiar with various aspects of the capital markets in Kenya?
- Do you have some experience with events management and public speaking, and are you comfortable dealing with groups of approximately 30 people or more?
- Have you personally invested, or have an interest, in shares and Bonds listed within the Nairobi Securities Exchanges and in Collective Investments Schemes (Unit Trusts)?
- The specific counties that the Authority is currently recruiting for resource persons in the coast region include: Lamu & Taita Taveta Counties.
