General Manager

Kenya Safari Lodges & Hotels Ltd (KSLH) is a public entity and owns and operates three properties, namely Mombasa Beach Hotel, Mombasa, Voi Safari Lodge, Tsavo East and Ngulia Safari Lodge, Tsavo West. Kenya Safari Lodges and Hotels (KSLH) is a premier hospitality company with a rich legacy of offering world-class safari and beach hospitality experiences driven by innovation, excellence and sustainability. The company is currently undergoing a major transformation aimed at repositioning itself as a leading brand in Kenya’s hospitality and tourism sector. To steer this change and drive growth, KSLH is seeking to recruit a dynamic, visionary, and results-driven General Manager.
Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Accounting Officer for the Kenya Safari Lodges & Hotels Limited ii. 
• Oversee the development of long-term strategies, plan and annual operating budget iii. 
• Drive operational excellence and profitability across all lodges and hotels. 
• Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and Prudent management of resources. 
• Foster collaboration and partnerships with key stakeholders in government, tourism, and the private sector.
• Spearheading the development and implementation of Performance Management of KSLH. 
• Ensure compliance with all professional, ethical, legal and statutory requirements in the conduct of KSLH business. 
• Facilitating communication between the Board of Directors and Management 
• Lead business restructuring, innovation, and repositioning of the KSLH brand. 
• Advising the Board on all policies and strategies related to the mandate of the Kenya Safari Lodges & Hotels. 
• Develop and nurturing a team of highly motivated and talented human capital fostering a culture of excellence in performance. 
• Establishing proper internal monitoring and control systems and procedures, ensuring effective dissemination of services. 
• Oversee maintenance and compliance with Quality Management Systems 
• Provide regular, thorough, and prompt communication to the Board on key technical, financial and administrative matters. 
• Ensure safe custody of institutional assets
•  Maintain a positive organizational culture, values and reputations for KSLH in its markets and with all staff, customers, suppliers, partners and regulatory/ official boards.

Academic and Professional Qualification

• Master’s Degree in Business Administration/Strategic/Hotel/Hospitality Management or related, 
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration/Strategic/Hotel/Hospitality Management or related, 
• Professional qualification, 
• Membership to a professional body,
•  Leadership course lasting not less than four (4) weeks,
•  At least Fifteen (15) years’ work experience. With 5 years’ experience in senior management, 
• Fulfill the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution.

Terms and Application Process

• The successful candidate will be appointed on a 3-year contract renewable subject to performance. This is an executive hospitality position with a competitive pay and benefits package commensurate with qualifications and experience.
