Oceans Alive Foundation is a Kenyan marine conservation NGO that focuses on community-based marine resource management. The organization is committed to supporting communities in safeguarding marine biodiversity and ensuring sustainable use of marine resources. Oceans Alive has created an integrated approach to the sustainable management of marine resources driven by the communities that rely on the ocean. We bring all key stakeholders together, including these Costal communities under a collaborative management approach. In early 2022, the first Co-Managed Area Plan in Kenya, driven by Oceans Alive, was signed off placing an area of 150 sq km under community-led management. We are currently hiring

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Manage budgets, financial reporting, and compliance to support efficient operations.
• Oversee accounting, procurement, and asset management in a non-profit setting.
• Drive fundraising through grant proposals, donor engagement, and sustainable financing strategies.
• Provide financial insights to enhance program impact.
• Collaborate with teams on audits, training, and strategic planning.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA preferred.
• 3–5 years in financial management, ideally in NGOs or conservation.
• Experience in fundraising, grant management, and Kenyan regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Excel; strong analytical skills.
• Passion for marine conservation; fluent in English and Swahili.
• Ability to thrive in a coastal, community-focused environment.
