Kwacha Afrika is a youth-focused NGO based in Mombasa, Kenya, dedicated to empowering young people and communities along the coast. Since 2000, the organisation has championed leadership, creativity, and social justice through impactful programs that inspire transformation and sustainable change.  Sanaa Kipawa Initiative is a groundbreaking 12-month project that will equip 150 young people (especially women and persons with disabilities) with market-ready skills in Film, Theatre, and the Audio-Visual value chain.Kwacha Afrika is hiring a passionate Film Production Trainer and Theatre Production Trainer
  1. Film Production Trainer
The Film Production Trainer will deliver practical, studio-based and field-based training in film creation — equipping youth with the technical and professional skills needed to enter the creative economy.
Key Responsibilities
  • Train learners on camera operation (DSLR/4K), lighting and sound
  • Guide trainees through directing, cinematography and storyboarding
  • Deliver editing modules using Adobe Premiere, FCP or DaVinci Resolve
  • Support production of short films and digital content
  • Deliver mentorship suitable for women, youth and PWDs
  • Support film showcases and industry exposure activities

Qualifications
  • Diploma/Degree in Film/Media/Digital Arts or related field
  • 3+ years experience in professional film production
  • Demonstrated teaching/training experience
  • Proficiency with editing software and production equipment
  • Portfolio or showreel required

  • Theatre Production Trainer
The Theatre Trainer will facilitate immersive workshops that build confidence, performance skills, and production abilities among participants.
Key Responsibilities
  • Train actors in voice, movement, improvisation and character development
  • Teach stagecraft, set design, scriptwriting and directing basics
  • Prepare trainees for community theatre showcases
  • Provide adaptive and inclusive coaching for PWDs and young women
  • Support documentation of performances

Qualifications
  • Diploma/Degree in Theatre Arts, Drama or related discipline
  • 3+ years experience as a practitioner: actor, director, stagecoach
  • Experience training or mentoring creative groups
  • Strong improvisation, storytelling and group facilitation skills
  • Portfolio or links to past productions required
