Job Description

3. The State Department for Public Service and Human Capital Development invites applications from qualified persons for the position of Driver II, CSG 15.

Requirements for Appointment

• Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade of D plain or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
• A valid driving licence free from any current endorsement(s) for the classes of vehicles an officer is required to drive;
• Attended a First Aid Certificate Course lasting not less than one (1) week at St. John Ambulance or Kenya Institute of Highway and Building Technology (KIHBT) or any other recognized institution;
• Passed Suitability Test Grade III;
• Police Clearance Certificate; and
• At least two (2) years driving experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Driving a motor vehicle as authorized;
• Carrying out routine checks on the vehicle’s cooling, oil, electrical, and brake systems;
• Maintenance of work tickets for vehicles assigned;
• Ensuring security and safety of the vehicle on and off the road;
• Ensuring safety of passengers and/or goods therein; and
• Maintaining cleanliness of the vehicle.

Terms of Service

1. Salary Scale: Kshs. 19,340 – 24,470 per month
2. House Allowance: As per the region deployed
3. Commuter Allowance: Kshs. 3,000 per month
4. Leave Allowance: Kshs. 4,000 per year
5. Terms of Service: Permanent
