1. Assistant Credit Control Officer
- Location: Ukunda Branch
- Reports to: Branch Manager
- Terms: Permanent and Pensionable
Job Purpose
- The Assistant Credit Control Officer will be responsible for managing the loan portfolio, ensuring timely loan repayments, and supporting the Sacco’s credit recovery processes in line with established policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle the loan portfolio and ensure all loans are properly paid.
- Communicate with employers to recover loans for staff who are Sacco members.
- Ensure all check-off loans are captured on payrolls for members.
- Reconcile member accounts and monitor defaulted loan status.
- Write and issue guarantor notification letters and effect recoveries.
- Follow up with defaulters and guarantors for loan recovery.
- Carry out debt collection activities and manage recovery as per Sacco policies.
- Submit timely credit and recovery reports to the supervisor.
- Assess the creditworthiness of new and existing members.
- Maintain accurate records of member payment histories and debt recovery efforts.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with debtors while enforcing collection obligations.
- Facilitate loan recovery through collateral, guarantor attachments, or asset disposal via auctioneers.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Cooperative Management, Banking, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Credit Management Certification (CCP II).
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in credit control or debt recovery.
2. Accounts Clerk
- Location: Kilifi Headquarters
- Reports to: Head Office Accountant
Job Purpose
- The Accounts Clerk will perform accounting and clerical functions to support supervisors, record business transactions, and maintain accurate financial records. The role also involves verifying financial data, reconciling accounts, and preparing reports for management review.
Key Responsibilities
- Reconcile M-Pesa Pay Bill and money transfer transactions.
- Reconcile ATM card and Point-of-Sale (POS) transactions for Sacco accounts and member cards.
- Prepare reports on uncompleted mobile banking, Pay Bill, and SIM card transactions for follow-up with service providers.
- Process refunds for confirmed erroneous transactions related to mobile banking, Pay Bill, and ATM cards.
- Confirm the accuracy of amounts deducted from Sacco bank accounts to ATM settlement accounts.
- Conduct bank reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.
- Attend to member queries and support MPA updates.
- Monitor and manage e-channel floats.
- Perform any other related duties as assigned from time to time.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA II qualification.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience in accounting or finance.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and record-keeping skills.
- Proficiency in accounting systems and MS Excel.
